We haven’t been able to find a miller listed in the 1841 Census, although Richard Gutteridge who the mill was built for in 1839 is living on West Street:

It looks like James Reynolds was the original miller from about 1843 and James Smyth, a miller from Chesham Bois, Buckinghamshire, took over in about 1855. On his death in the 1870’s , his son, George, became miller until his death after 1901
